Announcing the arrival of the Emperor Deities

Last evening, in temples across SE Asia, the Taoist community invited the Nine Emperor Gods to bless them with their presence. It is always a raucous, enjoyable time when people are thankful for their health and happiness and hopeful for better times ahead. I was at two invitation ceremonies last night – the first at Kow Ong Yah, Ampang and the second at Pak Thian Kiong in Jinjang. Here are a few photos:
