Two Tours to Nine Emperor Gods Festival

On the evening of the 4th day of the Nine Emperor Gods temple, a group of members of Internations toured the Kow Ong Yah temple.  Hallway Events provided them with some background about the festival and guided them through the colourful and raucous scene.  One member found a moment to ask a question of the Emperor using the Fortune Sticks and then had his paper interpreted.  I will post a few photos of the event by the Internations Cultural Convener soon.  Many in the group were new to Malaysia and this was an exciting introduction to Malaysian culture for them!  See one member’s FB album here.

On the 5th day of the festival, in the quiet of the morning, members of the Malaysian Culture Group joined us for a walk around the festival. What an interesting and interested group this was!  They asked a lot of questions and took photos and generally got to know the place. I met a couple of them the next day at the temple, back for more adventures. Seems that I was so busy being a tour guide that I didn’t take any photos!  Here is a Facebook album by my friend Vicki who visited the temple three times with me in the past week, including the MCG tour.
